..Reds in the pub this afternoon were seriously of the opinion that their lads have got us to the final. It's all about Ojo and Solanke. Wish they would just watch a game properly.

Saying that, I'd be chuffed if Ojo and Solanke score tomorrow.

I know we've just bought DCL and Lookman, but Solanke hasn't even officially signed for them yet has he? Hardly one of 'their lad's!

...personally, I'd never use a first team game as a trial match. Although I'm a Dowell fan, I also recognise the manager has a system and style of play that players have to fit into. Saying that, I'd have thought it worth having him on the bench by this stage ready to bring on if a game is comfortable or if the team are in need of a goal.

Hadn't previously noticed Ojo in this tournament, our lads has smashed it. However he was absolutely superb the other night after coming on.

..if I remember rightly, Ojo started the first game but Dowell replaced him and made a real impression.

For me Dowell could be considered along Deulofeu- a real talent but one who will not get a role under Koeman.

Hopefully I'm wrong though.

..I think the signs are there that RK isn't overly keen on Dowell, more specifically he's not been in a matchday squad and wasn't included in the mid-season break to Dubai. Saying that, who knows what is truly going on? Points are precious in the Premier League and youngsters need to convince the manager they can make a positive contribution.

I'm not sure how this tournament will impact pre-season, but those games will soon pass. Kenny in particular has shown fantastic ability and attitude in the World Cup but surely that won't have come as a surprise to anybody at the club.

These lads should get enough rest. I worry more that Holgate may miss out because u21 tournament hasn't started yet and if England do well he'll still need a break after it.
