Everton Youth Teams Thread

Great results for U18 team recently.

Won 2-1 against West Ham (second in South area group), 5-0 away at Fulham (third in south area) and 2-0 away at Sunderland.

Means we finish 2nd in the North area group behind Man City and about 15 points clear of the RS in third.

Now we play Tottenham (group winners from the south) in the semi-final.

Will we play this one at FF or Southport?

Spurs U18s are away at Chelsea U18s today. Kick off 4.00pm. We need 1 point from our last three games to meet Everton in a play-off semi final.

What's your opinion on Kane now he's broke through mate, flash ion the pan or genuine real deal?

Lacks one essential ingredient in my opinion - speed. Good in the air, good on the ball, great shot & an intelligent player but very slow. I like him though, hope the boy does well.

Cheers yidster, only seen him in bits and pieces really, but think that's a fair assessment by you, the lack of pace is gonna be a hard one to overcome unless he can turn himself into a a bit of a Lambert clone then i guess

I have seen him for the youth & first team quite a few times now. He should buy every DVD of Teddy Sheringham he can find & watch them to see how a good player can overcome a speed deficiency!

Good shout on the Sheringham comparisons, guessing that's the ideal situation, will need to pair him up alongside a forward with pace though, a Defoe type probably would have been a good option with him actually
