Everton Youth Teams Thread

I looked this up after you said it not because I didn't believe you just because I wanted to find out more about Dungannon Swifts and if this was unusual for them. I saw an article with quotes from their manager at the time and he says Bradley is a brilliant footballer and McAllister has a good attitude and tries hard. I'm paraphrasing but that was the gist of it and I just think it goes a long way to explaining things that we just don't get the better players in at those younger ages people focus on what we're producing for the top level but if the players aren't there to begin with its hard.
Dungannon have a fantastic set up. They produce lots and lots of really good players.

Him and McAllister definitely deserve these loans. Looking forward to seeing how they get on.

It's a shame that Okoronkwo is seemingly injured as he's the only other one that I feel really needs a loan.
McAllister is out of contract in the summer, it’s hard to see him getting another , but yeah a deserved loan. Campbell too , but it’s a tough gig for him, Fleetwood will undoubtedly be relegated from League 1 so it’s a backs to the wall campaign he’ll be fighting . He seems to have the mentality for it.

I wouldn't be shocked to see McAllister get another year. Not because I think he's good enough for the first team but we will need to field a team in U21s.

If he doesn't like his options after this season he may see going back to PL2 and putting up good numbers as his best chance of getting a move higher up. Sometimes that works like Broadhead or Quirk and other times it doesn't like Astley or John

From what i've heard he's not a bad kid but was heavily influenced by agents for the move

Also while at saints was on the end of a mad loan where the club he was on loan at tried to convert him to a striker against the wishes of saints
Hope he can find a club and get his career back on track

They probably shouldve done. I was pretty vocal about the fact I didn't believe him to be a left back when he was here but the fact Saints immediately went out and got a better left back the very next summer meant he was never making it at Southampton as a left back.

He's still only 19, if not for the bad blood with the club I would take a flyer on him and hope to develop him into a winger Tbh. Players that look far too good for PL2 at 18 are rare

I always thought he was better going forward,he wasn’t very good defending, still young enough to get a career out of football, maybe he needs a new agent to help him start afresh!!

I don't think they tried to convert him they just asked him to play there once and he saw his arse about it so the manager said well you can't defend so its this or nothing.

….those agents have done fantastically well for him. He’s been very well advised.

Before clubs get rid of youngsters they often try them in different positions. It’s normal for strikers to be tried at full-back, for example. Soton were trying to save their investment. They’ve made the lad a millionaire at 19 and suspect they paid us a few quid also.
