Utd are the only team that have consistently produced players for their 1st team

We bought in Holgate, Stones, DCL to the academy. Aren't they first team ready players?

Ha Ha,meant Luke Thomas,Holgate was a starter for his club as was Stones and DCL so not academy players and both bought before DCL,whole issue is about who is starting for us at present not the past with Barkley and Stones...

More than a handful i'd say.....Rashford,Greenwood at Utd,Mount among others at Chelsea,City with Foden and others waiting in the wings,Red Cult Alexander Arnold,Gomez.....could go on..Saka is now the Arsenal main attacking outlet for them and he's what....18

Liverpool bought Gomez for about 10million

He was 18. It would be like us claiming Moise Kean, Lukaku, Deulofeu etc as our own players.

If we use that criterion, we would also have the likes of Stones, Holgate, Richarlison, DCL, Brainthwaite, Nkounkou to add to the above 4 or 5 as well.

But those players would be playing for us now, but we sold them for mega money. If the club bring a player through and sell him, that's still a positive.

don't get your point....i'm only interested in what is coming through now not what has gone in the past,my original post was about the buzz of one of our own coming through something not happening at present....

The point is though, that they were brought through and we made a big profit on them.

We have a good age group at under 18s. The reality is, we bring as many through as most other teams, often with a lot less spend on our academy.

Weve seen a 16 and 17 year old gets debuts already this season!

So have the majority of Prem sides sold players at a profit,the harder part is bringing new talent through,always hopeful one or more of them make the step up and have the right attitude and mentality when they do...

That's true mate. Hopefully the change we are making academy level stat paying off.

Sorry but if you're including the likes of Luke Thomas and Nathan Tella as promising players coming through then I have no idea why Anthony Gordon, Jonjoe Kenny and Tom Davies aren't considered the same. You can't cry about a lack of talent coming through then include dross like that which also wouldn't play for us.

Well in fairness, Davies has broken through subsequently, Gordon is getting game time as well. In terms of other lads, Kenny, Stones, Holgate & DCL were all signed for the 23's and come through as well. Quite a few have also played games, Browning, Galloway, Connolly, Dowell, Ledson, Baningime, Pennington all got expsoure to the 1st team too. You are probably looking at around 10-15 lads there, a lot of them didn't really benefit from the managerial chaos at the top of the club.

It's not a bad record at all for the last 7 or 8 years.
