First I thought Lennon - the only player to really shine in the first hour. Then I thought Gylffi and Idrissa - and thought about the defence latterly but my vote goes to Dominic Calvert Lewin for leading the line so well.

Gylfi for me simply because he won me this...

That fracas involving the 5 kids towards the end of the game last night put a smile on my face.
If you ever want to get overly excited about the young players we have in the team at the minute - you only need to look as far as members of U20 squads that have won the competition in recent years.

France (2013)
Kurt Zouma (Chelsea)
Samuel Umtiti (Barcelona)
Paul Pogba (Man United)
Lucas Digne (Barcelona)
Mario Lemina (Southampton)

Brazil (2011)
Danilo (Man City)
Oscar (Shanghai)
Coutinho (Pool)
Casemiro (Madrid/Porto)
Alex Sandro (Juventus)
Juan Jesus (Roma)

Argentina (2007)
Di Maria (PSG)
Aguero (Man City)
Zarate (Watford)
Yacob (West Brom)
Banega (Sevilla)
Mercado (Sevilla)
Insua (Stuttgart)
Federico Fazio (Roma)
Sergio Romero (Man United)

Fun times ahead!

I was fortunate to break a tooth today,so poking a nerve with my tongue was less painful than watching that 1st half,if Kid Creole hadnt given the penalty away I think it would have been a struggle to get back into the game, anyway Gana MOTM for me

Every time I seen him I thought of this fella.

Lennon, again, for me. Goes FORWARD and isn't afraid to take people on.
Williams was ball watching for their goal and lost his man. Allardyce will surely roast anyone for silly mistakes like that.
3 points though.

Not a great first half at all, and the get out of jail card used, Everton had been far from coherent and reliant on too much long ball, I counted ten in the first 35 minutes.

As predicted, this is exactly how BFS would begin his reign, though we weren't to know he would bring such a change of fortune too.

How long will it continue? I don't know. But Happy New Year everyone, just the same.

Gueye getting back to his best, Calvert-Lewin improving with every game, same with Kenny and Holgate, same for Williams - despite losing his man for the goal, Martina at this moment not putting the fear in me with his defending and Schneiderlin was better than he has been. The rest carried Rooney and Sigurdsson last night but despite that they both scored. Not a bad nights work really.

Gueye gets the nod for me as he was everywhere and played some good football. Roll on Chelsea.

He has the same squad as Koeman was failing with TBF
Yes and he deserves credit for sorting things out so quick, the squad as a whole isn't to bad but Koeman did persist with things his way, even when it's wasn't working. I know Snides played last night, but under Koeman him and Keane would have played every game even if we weren't improving. Snides was a strange decision last night, but I suppose Sams still trying things out.

Are you sure you were watching the right player, Schneiderlin was very poor. We improved a lot when he was replaced.

Wasn't much in it for MOTM for me. Of the starting eleven, I could have given it to any of the back four, Gana, Lennon, Gylfi or DCL, but I gave it to Williams in the end.

Speaking to people on the way home last night, and a few others today, it seems he could take some of the blame for their goal, but I couldn't see that from where I was, so I'm choosing to ignore it because, in the second half, he was just rock solid.

I'm not sure about the new hair do though.
