Pickford 6 - not much to do.

Coleman 4.5 - I have been saying he is poor since pre-season. Poor judgement and crossing throughout. Deserve to be dropped but who do we have there?

Holgate 4 - really struggle today. How many times his hoofing and passing were straight to their players? He can’t deal with their striker and barely won 50:50 headers today.

Zouma 7 MOM - calm and solid. A big unit we are crying out for.

Digne 6.5 - got an assist. Looks tidy. Tired towards 70mins.

Davies 4 - what is he actually do? Too lightweight.

Schneiderlin 5 - got to distribute the ball faster. The whole midfield was very meh today.

Walcott 5.5 - very quiet by his standard.

Sigurdsson 5 - poor by his standard.

Dcl 6 - he got marked up because of his goal. He can’t play on the wing. He can’t pass and dribble to create chances.

Tosun 5.5 - feel sorry for Cenk he got no service from his teammates today.

Subs - Lookman - 5.5 does not look fit. He had put one really good cross in. Baines - 5.5 Niasse 6 - should came on earlier he was a thread as a super sub, getting us corners.

From where I was sat:

I’ll start with the visitors. Classic newly promoted English side. Archaic football, time wasting from the first second and lumping the ball to their tall players. The sooner they’re back with the Stoke, Sunderland and West Brom’s and stop poisoning the league the better.

Everton wise you could’ve been forgiven for thinking some Martinez-Allardyce hybrid had taken charge. Our tactic of passing round the defence before passing into midfield when the opposition had 11 men behind the ball then knocking it out to the wing then back to midfield and promptly losing it made for really poor watching.

We asked for subs and we got them. Unfortunately we took the only player who can cross a ball (Digne) off and the only player who can split a defence (Sigurdsson) off and that was the end of that.

Heroes and Villains:

Zouma- absolutely everywhere, unbelievably comfortable defending and on the ball, a real Rolls Royce and MotM by a country mile.

DCL- faster, stronger, jumpier. Looks like he’s really kicked on from last season, hard to get off the ball and great in the air. Should probably have been leading the line.

Digne- up and down that left wing defending and taking the ball forward as much as he could. The only player who looked capable of crossing the ball on the pitch today and looks decent with both feet.

Davies- if we’d bought him last season he’d have been sold this summer. Up against Mooy who looked several times the player of our Tom.

Coleman- his unpredictability used to be his best asset, now it looks to be his absolute downfall along with his crossing.

Holgate- poor in the air, turned too easy and shouldn’t be allowed to pass a ball.

All in all an absolutely dismal display. How many times can you say “at least we didn’t lose”? I know Huddersfield are always going to make it difficult but if you can’t do it at home against them who can you do it against.

A poor performance which yielded a poor result.

Before the game I was concerned about the lull's we have been having during the second half - today's play felt like one continuous lull. Passing was poor.

A real lack of creativity - not having Richarlson or Bernard available hurt us but you can't overly rely on one or two players.

I went for Zouma as MOTM. Digne played pretty well.

Still unbeaten at least, but, need to sort the defence out (or work extra on Zonal marking).

If you want a weekend unspoiled by the team you support letting you down, Everton is not the team you want to support. Trust me...I've had nigh on 50 years of ruined weekends.

Nope I win as I was born in '82 and can't remember Kendall mark 1 so 30 odd years without even those memories, you oldies had it way better :p;)

I feel really sorry for the poor sods who are too young for the last FA cup but old enough for Smith years though.
