Ramdom thoughts
Pickford save came at a crucial time
1-1 then and the whole dynamic of the game changes
Digne was class , seeet left foot and some fabulous crosses
Kenny good going forward , some nice crosses but caught out positionally on a couple of occasions
Zouma was strong brave and steady Keane has his best game for us so far , had Mitrovich in his pocket and played some lovely balls out of defence
Gana did what he does best , covered harried tackles and won possession , he shouldn’t be asked to carry the ball forward
Davies was average , too many stray passes but did a lot of work
Siggy was immense in the second half and as was alluded to earlier great mental strength to score two after the penalty miss
Walcott was always a threat and the cross for Tosuns goal was pure class
DCL ineffective as usual
Ricarlison was kicked pulled and hacked from start to finish but showed real patience and was a constant threat
Tosun needed that goal so hopefully he kicks on
Amazed Bernard didn’t start
He has skill , awareness and one of the few real footballing brains in the team
He could be massive for us , just a matter of finding where to play him
With Coleman Mina Gomes plus possibly Bernard to go into the starting 11 things are looking up

One final point , could all those who had there first set of dry sheets for the season yesterday please raise your hands lol
Isn't that the name of @Bungle's blog?

I might be wrong here, but hasn't the manager said that Richarlison's preferred position is on the left and cutting in? If so why would playing him out of position instead of Tosun (or DCL) be an improvement? Fair enough play Bernard, but don't push Richarlison out of position to accomodate him, rather build the team according to the strengths on offer.
Silva has said multiple times that Richy can play any of the front 3 positions and has done so for both him at Watford and now Brazil. Might he be marginally better on the left? Maybe. But this also would get our best players together on the field at the same time, and I’m already tired of DCL up front, weak pen won or not. Also that was more down to Siggy playing a great ball through.

Made up for Keane and Sigurdsson, maybe now some people will get off their backs and leave them alone, I am sure all the criticism does them no good at all.

Good game, Siggy, Digne, Keane on the top. DCL weaker then usual. Want to see Bernard more, he is a top class and we need some top striker. Don't think Cenk is the man.

Digne...made the left back position his own.

The left side with him and Richarlison is awesome.
One of the keys to this working well is to have Gana as the covering mid on the left. It gives the two of them more of a licence just to go for it.
The problem is Gana is just all over the place.
It also requires a 10 who is going to provide the quality on the ball in tight spaces tjat Sig lacks. I'd be putting Lookman in there until Gomes comes in and Bernard can take over. What Bernard did with his assist is hppefully somethong je can do in the centre.
Once this is all sorted things should start to take off.

Reading this I'm not sure it's Gana who's "all over the place":oops:
