...I know he redeemed himself, but really disappointed Sigurdsson didn’t convert the penalty. I like the fella, but he strikes a ball so sweetly he really needs to be scoring those when we most need it. Regardless, MoM.

Usually 2 goals would get Gylfi the nod, but thought Gueye was fantastic today. Didn’t stop. Won the ball back constantly.

Been really impressed with Digne. Early days, but week after week he puts in a consistently good performance. MOTM for me today, would have been Siggy but for the missed penalty.

I had to rely on Radio Merseyside, but it sounded like the penalty decision wasn't deserved anyway, so Gylfi gets a pass for missing it and my MoM award for his goals. Pleased for Cenk getting his goal. Sounded like we are starting to play as a team. Good win!

Some random thoughts.

Davies keeps making stupid errors and it's because he's no longer playing on instinct and he's thinking through everything, which means the pass has gone or he's took a heavy touch etc. That said, there is a player there, but he needs to calm down.

First half was dire all around. Only Digne, Zouma and Richarlison looked like footballers for most of it.

The penalty - I was directly behind it looking from the Park End. For me, it looked like a cynical shove to divert the player away from goal, so it's a penalty. I haven't seen it back though.

Second half was like a different team, particularly when the completely ineffective Calvert-Lewin went off for Tosun. Tosun is a proper striker; DCL simply isn't at the moment. He needs taking out of the first team for a while and time to reflect, hopefully on loan in January.

Man of the match for me was Richarlison. Excellent throughout. As said above, Digna and Zouma also good throughout and Sigurdsson good second half, but over the full 90 it was Richarlison for me; the difference he makes to our side is massive.

Went for Sigurdsson for picking his game up after the poor first half and then the awful penalty miss... good to see him raising his game rather than shrinking into a shell.

Very pleased for Michael Keane today, thought he looked possibly his most assured since the very early days of last season.
