I saw on Sunday on the telly the way Ferguson was celebrating a goal for us against Bournemouth, I thought Christ, it is only against
Bournemouth after all, and the crowd were going mad, what's all the fuss? Well it is more than forty years ago when I was a young
lad aged 30, we went by special train to Swindon of the third division I think, we battered them 2-2 came back to Goodison the
following Tuesday for the replay, talk about frustration! We hit them with everything and it didn't look good, until Braveheart Dave
Jones got the ball in front of the Goodison terrace and ran and ran and ran til he smashed the winner in at Gwladys Street, I probably
got as excited as big Dunc that night. I must be getting cynical in my old age. A few rounds later that year a certain Clive Thomas was
waiting for us at Maine Road!
