Wouldnt put Vermaelen ahead of Jagielka. But kosicleny is clearly better. he's a smarter version of Distin imo. jagielka is more of a Mertesacker type who's a leader and depends on positioning. Before people say Arsenal were after Jagielka, its true and that was before we bought Mertesacker and that summer it was clear we were looking for a CB and a certain type of CB. So its no coincidence that these two were looked at as we needed a leader at the back

I don't rate Kosicleny highly at all. Don't think many do outside Arsenal. He's decent like but nowhere near Jagielka standard or Distin for that matter.

some truly bizzare choices their lid, some of your comparisions are a little off too, eg comparing our best cb vs their second best, barry vs arteta when a like for like is flamini with arteta playing more the mccarthy role in that lineup, wiltshere starts more often by far on the left yet comparing him with barkley, ozil whom plays dropped off compared with pinnear who always plays left for us etc, just shows how pointless these types of threads are imo

I thought doing this against utd and Liverpool was easy. Against arsenal it's very difficult. For them the likes of Sagna, mertasaker, vermalan, Arteta, Flamini, Walcott are very close calls and it really could be either or. For us the likes McCarthy, Barkley, Lakaku, pienaar again close calls....

I think it goes to show that it's 2 very good teams, with very good players and should be an intriguing match. Always had a soft spot for arsenal, my bro supports them and personally think they play the best football in the league.

No doubts I wanna do you lot over tomoz arsen but after that I hope you go on to win the league. (If we can't obviously!ha)

Gibson is excellent ! Probably the most unrated player in the country, reads the game well great passing , tackles and a excellent shot ( under Martinez I think we'll see more )
