I’m really struggling to see what Beto offers at Prem level, beyond the “he runs around a lot and looks strong” shouts.

When we have the ball anywhere near the opposition box, he’s never looking to find space, lose his defender, or show the guile and skill needed at Prem level.

The ball played through, for him to run on to, (and be caught offside) is going to be so easily sussed and stopped, this season.

This is at least the second time this preseason I've seen a center back make eye contact with a wide open Nathan Patterson and then turn away, looking for absolutely anyone else.

I can't remember Beto keeping possession once that half.. had a great chance but got his timing all wrong as he's still not sharp after being at the club 2 years.
I get that he scored 8 last season and can be a handful at times.. but we will always be relegation fodder if he's our 9 as play breaks up anytime it goes near him

If only we had a big forward to hold up the ball......
