Should never have played Schneiderlin after his awful loss. No way would his head be in it. Impossible. Let the man grieve and be there for his family. Bernard made an instant impact when he came on which is good to see. Need them to come out now and play like it is a cup final. Non stop effort from start to finish and West Ham will struggle and we will get chances. Go for it blues. No excuses.

It was made easy for them by the play on the left hand side sucking in players. All Gueye had to do was pass it wide (which he almost messed up) and Kenny to cross both under zero pressure. Good header though.

It was good play on the left to be fair, just think we overlook some other players contributions. Gana showed good control and decision making, it wasn’t the easiest pass/play and Kenny put in a good cross (pressure or not).

Footballers are humans, not machines. I’ve had to deal with a similar situation as a manager and you have to trust the player. Could easily have had an absolute stormer in his honour, but very hard to predict how you’re gonna feel until you are out there.

But everyone will just blame a striker.

With McCarthy and Barry you also had Barkley who'd pick the ball up and drive.

Gana played more forward passes and linked defence to attack more than any player that first half. And he's not that player hence why it didn't always come off.

His strengths are to win the ball and pass it to a footballer. We don't have that in the middle. It's also infuriating when a so called number 10 in Siggurdson doesn't drop deep and help out.

So when we sold Barkley, then we should have identified a forward bursting player to play along Gana or Schneiderlin. And just as you say, Gana's only role should be to regain possession. His passing accuracy beyond 10 yards is horrendous. And I can't keep count of how many shots he has taken from 20 yards in the past year that miss the mark by 30 yards.

Its poor management when 3 or 4 managers can't figure out that Gana and Schnides don't work and DCL on wing doesn't work as well. That too at home.
