Personally, I think if we had Deulofeu for another season and he had stayed fit we would be about ten points better off now. We need pace and a bit of directness.

You're underselling both of them. It's fine if you don't like them, but Osman was great today. MOTM worthy. Give him credit. Fine doesn't quite do it justice.

Only my opinion like but 9 times out of 10 I don't think he is good enough to don the blue shirt and I want the best for Everton.

I didn't say he should target a CB as a short term option i said he should have targeted a CB in the summer, we were awful at defending at the start of the season and i think its justified to say we should have looked for a CB. Distin won't last much longer than the end of this season just based on age alone but also his partnership with jags is not what it once was. Stones and Alcaraz have been injured since the end of the window and we now have distin, jags, browning, barry at a push and hes injured for the time being aswell.

A winger will be needed because we can't expect a 20 year old barkley to play that position when he has shown not only today but time and again that hes not only a better player in the number 10 type role he also doesn't have the defensive capabilities for a wide player, 2nd half today zarate and jarvis had him pinned back helping coleman but he rarely got close to winning the ball and resulted in another cross in to the box, for all of mcgeadys faults and even at times deulofeu they did do some good work defensively aswell as giving good balance in attack.

i even agree about the striker position but while we have eto'o and lukaku we can afford to just rely on them 2 because we never play 2 up top, we cant keep relying on central players being sacrificed out wide because of injuries to pienaar/mirallas but more so pienaar as hes our only real left sided option
