Not the greatest performance. We will need to be much better. But defense was excellent. Keane and mina esp won everyball. 3 good points.

Fantastic without the ball and a lot to be desired with it.

Honestly the general play wasn't too dissimilar to the game against these at Goodison last season but we defended better and that made the difference. There are still issues in midfield that need to be worked out.

We won't lose often if we don't concede goals.

Unfortunately internationals and late transfers disrupted preseason. Bit more match sharpness and we would have destroyed. Fully believe Richarlison would have buried both headers if they had come to him mid season.

Can't complain really. Two clean sheets and 4 points. By the time we have to play any team of substance we'll be free of rust and cobwebs and DCL will be a fixture on the bench.

Clearly still well off the pace but it's an opening Goodison win and yet another clean sheet.

Gomes and Bernard our best players over the 90 and Keane & Mina excellent again. Encouraging cameo from Kean and Gbamin has the capacity to get better and better.

Front 3 need sorting out massively. Need more creativity.

Everything from defence to centre mid is sound though.
