Momentum, please. It would seem this season that Brian Potter would have more change of putting together a run than our beloved boys in blue. And we can safely apply affectionate terms to the club for a fleeting moment as lets face it, winning on pens is boss. I could get used to that, but obviously dare not.
It was nice to put Chelsea away more so as the amount of snideyness that their players demonstrated through the match. Appealing for everything, their players up their own arses in general and the tedious time wasting that exploded on the game as soon as they got their snouts in front. Basically, sniff that you tits.
Back in the real world were sat in 13th but far too close to comfort to the relegation zone so we have to put something together for this against a Sunderland side who are usually generous at Goodison.
The modern day Sunderland is a good team and prevalent at present in the mong fest of North East Soccer. That's not a slant at Sunderland as they're the only team and fans up there that haven't been beaten with the beaut stick all over the show, the ones I've met have been for the most part really sound.
Steve Bruce, with his American Politics hair, has put together a side that are enjoying a good season. They're hit a sticky patch with losing their last three games but have some good players. Gyan is dangerous and time will show if he is an adequate replacement for Bent, who weirdly moved to (the) Villa. Henderson is turning some heads in the middle, he's tidy in the middle in a sort of ace Gavin McCann way. Onohua has been a good capture from City, we could have done a lot worse in retrospect and offers threat on the right and they just signed Muntari who looked boss on MOTD but was ****e on the continent. Oh and Sessegnon, who we hope won't rival Ben Arfa for the wish-we-would have-signed-him-cup at Goodison this season.
Who will start for us will be the thing. Saha should be back and you'd think will return up front, a test of Everton's intent with be who starts up there with him. Cahill has been no great shakes since he returned from Asia so personally I'd go with Beckford. Fellaini was back to his awkward/classy best against Chelsea and we got one or glimpses of Arteta running forward with intent, he used to be ace in matches like this prior to this season so we'll see. Can't see the defence changing too much, despite Heitinga winning a reprieve in some's minds due to a penalty, fist pump and his impression of a beaked up lid on the bounce against their knobhead left back.
If they win then they're ten points ahead of us, if we win then that gap is shortened to four. Were rightfully tentative to have any sort of ambition this season but as games go it's as pivotal as they come. Come on Eberton.
