Never said you needed a brain. I was replying to your allegation of knee-jerking by referring to ME having a brain and using it, which is how I digest what I watched yesterday and draw opinions from it. I was castigating players who played poorly yesterday, which is not related to whether they have played well the rest of the season or not... but well done for ignoring those points (and those about Donovan, the stats from the game put in context and the poor supply to Lukaku) in favour of being upset by the word "lad".

...so if you were referring to just the one game....its a bit of a knee jerk to suggest that three of our best players be 'benched'. KNEE JERK.

If you think McCarthy, Pienaar and Mirallas have been playing better than Howard, all of the back four, Barry or Barkley then I don't really know what to say to you.

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, Pienaar and Mirallas have not been creating much for Lukaku in the last few games - there are other threads on here in which the lack of supply to Lukaku is being discussed. And my point has been that we need to bring in a couple more starter-quality players in order to rotate those going through poor patches of form, or cover for injuries or suspensions. I don't see you making any sensible counter-argument, you just keep disagreeing.

Bravo once again for ignoring all the other points. And why do you keep putting apostrophes either side of the word benched? Very mature of you to repeat knee jerk over and over, and the capitalisation was a deft touch. By all means have a contrary opinion, but feel free to share it at some point. Tell us all how well Mirallas and Pienaar are creating multiple chances for Lukaku, and how Osman is perfectly capable of standing in for Barry and McCarthy.

Lad.

Oh yeah sorry I forgot about Distin.
Barkley isn't fast though and neither is McCarthy. Average I'd say.

Lukaku has pace but he hasn't used it and I don't know why. Have we always been **** at counter attacking?

Ideally need a young play maker to come off tbe bench in times like those to open up the opposition -- and a winger with ability to run at the defence.

Perfect game for deulofeu that sadly.

Always next season for him mate. Hopefully Barca don't listen to any other teams and let him come back here.

I know it might sound mad but vs Sunderland none of our players actually wanted to have a go and run at them apart from Coleman. I might be completely wrong though as I wanted to just forget that game

Mirallas against Newcastle, against Hull? He's got pace.

He has pace mate but he doesn't use it enough. We are soooo slow at attacking its ridiculous

hmmmm

well they didnt really deserve the win or was the best team even with 1 more man were they? so I dont think they have anything they should have said.

a second penalty should have been awarded without doubt - just look at
Pienar Incident on line sorry but we should have had 2 penalties !!

probably right, and if the first penalty incident hadn't been given, I believe the ref would have granted that. But I think even the most ardent Sunderland supporter wouldn't say that Sunderland played the better football on the day. Fair dos...Sunderland won...and that is all that counts at the end of the day.
I for one have moved on from that game and are contemplating (with very little confidence and much trepidation) the Soton match.

Thank you for your honesty - I agree we should move on - but... we have had so many contentious decisions against so so far then... I HAVE TO POINT OUT how we need a fair playing field!!

Anyways..... good luck to the Toffees!!!!

Yes mate, we at Everton know how you might feel. We have had 5 penalties awarded against us this season (most in the PL) and been granted not a single one (despite some 'stone wall' shouts). Level playing field ? Not for us either

But, gotta just fight the good fight and carry on.

....and Good luck to you guys in your own significant battle

Don't agree with that personally. There may be occasions but we generally are very quick to get onto the counter, much quicker than the previous regime. When we have hte ball and they have everybody behind it, it's gonna take patience. Having pace means little if they are sitting in their on box, like Sunderland did for the opening 20 minutes.

Aye well in lid. Man advantage or not you really needed it. And the Sunderland fans that come on here generally near enough all dead sound.
