Ki had a very good game, if he was a striker he would have stayed on his feet and just scored.

Anyone see the RS, Hart pretty much gave Coutinho the goal rather than attempt a challenge. It's all ifs and buts but that might be a better way to go about it, a red and a pen seems like double punishment.

Mainly because Osman's (and Howard's) mistake cost us the game. Osman was dropping so deep he was getting in Barry's and McCarthy's way for the 20 odd minutes he played.

Surely we should have started Barkely and brought him off need be.

With Ki that close to Osman, Howard shouldn't have give him the ball anyway.

Ideally we'd have had enough to win the game today without Barkley, but he was there to bring on if things weren't going to plan. Mirallas being unwell didn't help things either.

Total knee-jerk. Osman made one mistake today.
Mate, he makes mistakes every time he's on the field, just usually our other players dig him out of a hole. He's become a massive liability, and almost everybody can see it.

How do you know that Barkley doesn't need resting? He can play every game but he's not going to be at his peak if you don't pace him and he risks possible burn out. Besides the physical exertion, the stress and excitement will take their toll, especially because it's all new to him.
I don't know, but I can only look at other teams who play their 20-year-olds more often than we do Barkley. I am sure he is physically as fit as these other young lids.

Jagielka virtually did the same thing with his header back. Why aren't you berating him?
Because it didn't cost us a goal and a sending off and leave us with 10 men for 70 minutes of the game.

So Barry is out? Do you think he will put Osman back in for his confidence? Barkley drops deeper maybe and Mirallas behind Lukaku with Oviedo/Naismith outwide?

Betting against your own team is the woolest thing since Wooliam Woolighby wooled all night to wool.iam woolingly woolfully. Wool.

nah lad its clever. if everton win I will be happy. If my bet wins I will be happy-ish.

You like that wool word don't ye you little wool

Except our Bobby

Don't try and pull the WOOL over my eyes, there's nothing clever about betting against your own team, you should probably give that money to charity.

I've never been happier after a defeat. We lobbed the kitchen sink at them in the second half and we as supporters couldn't have asked for more. Goodison was flat before the sending off.
The way Barkley was trying everything to drag us out of the sh1t was inspiring and I hate to praise Gerrard but he reminds me of him in his prime.
Our small squad will inevitably catch up with us but I for one couldn't ask for more of the players.

Ha you can tell I've had a skin full.

We plays soooo well in the 2nd half that I had to applaud the effort. Lets just get 3 the next match. A loss here and there won't hurt that much, what will is not getting 3 pts.

I don't think Osman makes any more mistakes than anyone else. Prior to being withdrawn 16 of his 17 passes were successful. Barry had 67/77 and McCarthy had 40/41.

Barkley has started 14 league games and come on another 3 times. Looking for similar types of players at a similar age:

Gnabry (Arsenal) 18 y.o. 2 league starts, 4 sub
Van Ginkel (Chelsea) 21 y.o. 2 sub
Sterling (Liverpool) 19 y.o. 7 starts, 6 sub
Januzaj (United) 18 y.o. 7 starts, 5 sub
Townsend (Spurs) 22 y.o. 10 starts, 4 sub

Ross has featured in every game this season and has started twice as many matches as Sterling or Januzaj. It's his first full season in the Premier League and their is a lot of expectation on him. We need to try and manage him sensibly.

So if Howard wasn't so quick off his line to dig Jags out of a hole or if Howard had stayed on and saved the penalty your opinion would be different?
