1 player less, 1 goal down, and 45 minutes late. That's why we couldn't win today, or draw for that matter. Sunderland's defence was well too organized for us to crack. Is Lukaku really 6'3''? Is he really a 200lbs-man? Feels more like 5'10'' in the air. Striker is a must in January.

No comments on Osman, although Howard should be blamed as well.

Almost as good as the earlier threads. 6-0

Cheers Chico! Great read again, Merry Christmas dude (y)

6-0 lukaku x3, Barkley, Coleman and another own goal.

Ace as per Chicoman.

4-0 boxing day stroll about L4.

COYB

Looking forward to being at Goodison on Boxing Day. Wary of complacency here but in all honesty we should steamroll these. I hope we put them on the back foot immediately and don't give them confidence. If we get an early goal it could be 4-0.

Let's smash the back doors off these lids. 6:0.

Great as always thinks Sunderland will be the christmas stuffing

It was a clueless decision, especially after he saw what happened at Palace when he tried the same trick.

There was no justifuication for 'resting' Barkley. None whatsover. It was Moyeslike in it's stupidity.

Well lesson learnt hopefully and with a bit of luck we wont see him near the starting 11 for a while.

I have faith in the manager so I'll let it slide this time, I now have to go spend the rest ofy boxing day with a load of Mancs, oh the joy.

What game were you watching? We had more ball, but they were happy to park the bus and let us take long-range shots (Barkley, Lukaku, Coleman and Oviedo all multiple attempts from outside the box) in order to hit us on the break with our fullbacks in advanced positions. We did not dominate anything apart from the possession stats and the long-range shot tally.

We did not have anyone who looked capable of taking on a man and beating him, and that's what we've needed since Deulofeu's injury. We STILL don't have anyone who can pick out a defence-splitting pass.

We had the chances too. Mannone MOTM for me.

Dropping 3 points to this striped turd brigade at home is unacceptable regardless of circumstance. The players who face bans now is just another layer to this crap cake of a match.

Dont care what anyone says that was a cracking performance showing that can deal with tough situations. Strong character and some of the lads really playing for the shirt out there. On another day we would have equalised and then who knows.

MOTM Oviedo. Worse performer: Half of the fans on here

Don't begrudge Sunderland the win, they're bottom and scrapping for their lives. The rules are sh*te with the red card for the keeper ruining a game of football but that's how it is.

Really pleased to see Everton not wilt with ten men and really take the game to them, you wouldn't have thought they had the man advantage for long periods of that second half. Did you see the subs too? An extra striker on to chase it. Keeper up for the last corner of the game.

I can forgive a lot of things as long as Everton really go after teams and that's what were doing at the moment. Results may not go our way this week but were gonna be sound.

Turn and face blues.

Actually, this post makes me feel better. We did at least make em have it in the 2nd half and we've been in enough dog-fights at the wrong end of the table not to completely begrudge sunderland a vital win I suppose. All depends how we react on sunday - and without some key players...

Incredibly pissed off about the way that game panned out. One moment of utter madness has cost us 3 points and our home record to the side at the bottom of the league. You couldn't make this sh*t up really.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I've not doubted Roberto's selections so far, but today has to go down as his mistake for starting Osman ahead of Barkley.

how the **** could he foresee osman/howards mistake. it was something that happens once in a decade.
