To be fair like Ossies had a few decent games this season and bagged us the 3 points in a couple of them if I'm not mistaken. So I didn't mind too much he started, it's not crime of the century. But omitting Barkley for him is a no-no. If it was a bigger team, Barkley would have started, so it is slightly arrogant to think you can rest your most in-form player against a team you think you will walk over.
Secondly, Barkley shouldn't need resting, he's young and fit and it's not like we are in Europe. In the highly unlikely event he does start showing signs of tiredness, give him a lighter training schedule. He's a key player for us now so he should be starting all games (with the option of removing him after 45).
Ossie is the most hit-or-miss player I've ever seen. He either has a stormer (rare, but nice to see when it happens.), he is anonymous (most of the time) or he has a howler (like today). He was alright in his prime, and he's been a good servant and a model professional, but if we want to be near the top of the table we have to start being less sentimental and more cut throat with our long term players. In other words, I think Ossie is play-the-game-out sub now, nothing more.
