Thankfully we were not punished for that 1st half experiment, hopefully it will never be used again.
Rooney started off poorly, but seemed to relax a lot after the goal and was excellent.
DCL tried from that right, but looked so much better through the middle. I actually think he has something about him but just needs experience and games.
Pickford/Gana - superb!
All in all a good 3 points.
It'll be a long season if that doesn't happen.Unconvincing first 30 mins but a good team performance after that though.
Agree with you somewhat though, a proper CF, some pace out wide/up top and a bit more quality in midfield will be the difference between grinding out a win against the likes of Stoke at home or winning comfortably like in the 2nd half of last season.
We didn't look close to being punished in the 1st half. I agree that the 3 at the back didn't work out well offensively but defensively it worked but like you I don't want to see it again with the same players.
Same biffs claim we haven't improved our squad too. When you compare what Koeman inherited and look now at Pickford, Keane, Gana and Morgan at least we have a spine now unlike before. Actually we were spineless for 18 months previously particularly in defence. We start the season with a win and you should be happy it's three points in the bag but instead loads on here overanalysing every aspect of the game and aren't satisfied. Get a life you repugnant Biffs.
It is relevant though. It showed how very predictable we are.

His passing was ridiculously poor but still did okay martina just stops when attacking to pass sideways annoying is an understatement hahaHa ha
You obviously missed the first half then with Jagielka playing left side of the back three. Embarrassing display.
It looked like a lad using his weaker foot for the first time.
