Thanks Dell lid but honestly, I'm really not all that. As average as average gets unfortunately.

That's exactly what a true hero would say. Great write-up, as always.

Everton cannot head the ball, or play it on the ground except like 5 minutes per game. That is all I came here to say, lids. COYB!

cant really play 3-5-2 against Spurs since they play with genuine wingers and overlapping fullbacks. If we did then baines/coleman would continually be isolated 2v1 out wide. works against stoke since they pretty much play 4 cb's

Go 4 -2-2-2 agaist spurs with gibo and osman holding . Mirrallas on the right Oviedo on the left and vic and jelavic up top . I have brought Oviedo in as he has the pace to cope with Lennon

what did people make of Moyes's comments end of the match?

sounds to me like he wants assurances of money to spend before signing and Im terrified that Ken****es gonna try call his bluff and he'll leave.

I reckon your spot mate, i am convinced Moyes is not money oriantated regarding his own contract, and i know i,m gonna get
vollyed all over the shop for this. But maybe, yeah just maybe, he,s fckn sick and tired like us fans of the bollocks he,s been fed by the board year in year out..

Moyes imo is right to hold a gun to their heads however bad the timing is. As he,s repeataly said he will wait till the end of the season to negotiate his future and moving this great club forward.

David Moyes for all his short comings, has at least kept us competitive on a shoestring for years, its time the moaners on here demanding his head realised this.

We **** of the billioner clubs buying titles, but we Evertonians of a certain age (50+) who swept to all that glorious history, we were the known as the MILLIONAIRES CLUB at the time, therefore attracting the best players (legends).its a sad truth in todays game, but if we dont take a chance with a make or break investment to DM, we,ll never see those days again..

*Sadly, i dont see it as yet.* IMIT FFS!!!

I absolutely LOVE the new formation!

Obviously it will take some time to be natural - but for a first outing I thought it was perfect.

"But it was a drab match and we only just won" I hear you cry? Well if we had played our usual formation against Stoke I think we would have been beaten. Stoke are good at exploiting a weakness and due to our tallest player being out we needed to confuse them with a very different formation (well played Moyes... just a shame it took 11 years and possibley the end of your Everton days to try it).

Not really sure about the effectiveness against technically better teams but maybe we could sacrifice the second striker or the free attacking midfielder role for a solid anchorman infront of the back 3 - as Coleman and Baines are like wingers and the likes of Mirallas and Osman are the wide midfielders.

Early morning rambling here (I know) but I am just so happy that Moyes has found his old play-book down the back of the sofa! And unlike a fair few here - I definitely prefer this shape to our standard defensive formation.

We got lucky yesterday and if Stoke hadnt missed two sitters I don't think we'd be praising the change of tactics by Moyes, although it was good to see him switch things up. Still played long ball an awful lot against them.

Mirallas' goal was just pure aceness though love how one v one with the defender you just knew he was going to skin him.

Mirallas' goal was the jewel in the crown of that woeful game, tbf. And even that was reliant on a slice of luck when Nzonzi stripped Mirallas of the ball only for it to rebound off his other ankle and back into Mirallas' path again.

Wasn't a good game yesterday was it?

That being said, those are the sort of games that you need to win in order to finish in the top 4. The result was the most important thing and the lads did well to get it. Agreed that we were quite lucky in parts but half of everything is luck. I wouldn't make a habit of relying on luck though

A win's a win lad's, 3 points all the same and they were 3 very important points, at least we didn't lose like last season, we didn't play great but we still won. COYB!!!!

arsenal prob favourites for fourth cos they usually manage a win when not on their game. so lets take that one on board. I think the system is our best option with the players available but we need to stick at and would still prefer Duffy as one of the three in centre
