Maybe a few on here are being too critical ? Sure it wasn't a great game but surely you cant expect it to come together during pre season

AC Milan struggled against a side I've never hear of

AC Milan secured a valuable 1-0 win over Universitatea Craiova in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying tie on Thursday night, with Ricardo Rodriguez scoring the only goal of the game. The Rossoneri struggled at times with a lack of match fitness, but ultimately, they got the job done and start the new season with a win.

I think Martina could maybe be swapped out for Kenny, and Sandro start over DCL. Perhaps Lennon over mirallas for his workrate and a bit more pace for the counter.
would love to see kenny and sandro. Maybe lennon or lookman to go past people. must say their left back looked mince.

Rovers under Giles and unphy played Uni Craiova in the early 80s in the old UEFA Cup. I think we lost over both legs - Romanian team.

I keep hearing this pre season excuse, yes quite a few were on international duty, but there's absolutely no reason the others couldn't have started pre season earlier, knowing we had early European games. It shouldn't really be an issue, we could possibly go out early because of the players not being fit enough.

team played pretty poor overall, don't get everyone having a go at individual players from 1 game where the whole team was lackluster

Maybe there was just too high a level of expectation ahead of kick-off ?

We've moved quicker then ever before in the transfer market, that energised us.
We've signed players we'd all have signed had the decision been ours - Pickford and Keane especially - that energised us.
We've brought Wayne Rooney 'home', that energised us.
We were playing a small town team practically none of us had ever heard of before, that energised us.
We were all hoping Rooney or Sandro would score, that did and would have energised up even more.

And maybe the weight of all of that expectation somewhat blinded us to what actually took place on the pitch.

We weren't as cohesive a unit as we'd have liked us to be - that will come in time as the players gel and systems become more familiar.
But we did dominate the possession and created three of four decent scoring opportunities.

Ruzomberok played a sensible system to try and keep us quiet, and having already played three of four competitive games, they were more familiar with what their roles were on the night.

They'll be quietly pleased and maybe even confident of overturning the one goal deficit on their own pitch in front of their own fans, but Ronald Koeman will surely be already working on a team and game plan not just to win the tie, but to win the game over there too.

No doubt he would take 0-0 next Thursday, but I suspect he'd prefer 0-1 or 0-2.

Indeed, swapping Martina for Kenny next week should be a priority, that lad can put in a decent cross. Maybe give DCL a try at CF as a sub if we score away. He did ok for England there.

Gana an Mirallas were the only 2 players last night willing to move out of position to try an stretch the game or make something happen. Not much worked for Mirallas he got the sky report MoM.
Schneiderlin will never be as good as the best Gareth Barry. He cant move at all.

Shows what they know on sky.

Well he got my vote and nothing to do with the goal he scored. When he gets a winger in front of him who stays on the wing and a tall centre forward to aim at he will prove that there is still plenty of life in him.
His pace is gone, we often lose momentum when he gets the ball in the final third.

It's no coincidence when they drew everton they upped their game, they have a possible life changing opportunity to show buyers they can play in England, no way where they going to roll over for us, expect more of the same over in Slovakia.
