Ah, the professional Evertonians have deemed this a 'mad' team.

It's really, really not.

Richarlison suspended. Had no choice to change. Bernard must not be fit.

Digne and Zouma in - again, expected.

Stekelenburg in - no surprise.

The midfield is very attacking but we should see plenty of the ball. If we need to sure it up, we have Schneiderlin available.

If we need pace/a goal, Tosun and Walcott to come on.
The forum must be close to reaching its daily irony limit after this.

Stek worries me. Massively so.

Davies captain? He's neither vocal on the pitch or our best player.

I like Davies but that is a massive show of trust in a young lad ( struggling at the moment), but got to believe that Silva knows what he is doing and as long as we get through this tie it will have to do.

Who would you have given the armband to in that team? Sandro?

This time two years ago in a League Cup fixture against Yeovil, Barkley was given the armband.

It's good for Davies. He's a young lad having risen through the ranks and giving him the captaincy shows trust and faith and hopefully his performance lives up to that.
Who? Probably the most experienced and vocal player in the 11 - siggy.

Its not a massive issue by the way, just seems a bit weird.

Rotherham have made 8 changes too so it isn't their first choice starting XI either.

I'm more concerned about the front 3 tbh. Seems a bit disjointed.

Disappointed not to see Bernard on the bench at least. As you say, he must be injured unless he felt that he isn't ready for 2 games in 4 days if he has him in mind to start at the weekend.

Didn't think I'd say this but it's good to see Morgan on the bench. He's started the season well and is more suited to the holding role against a team that's going to sit which is what I expect at the weekend.

I don't know why the Premier League hasn't voted to pull out of this competition.

Even the mid-table clubs with virtually nothing to play for have no interest in it.
