Seen this about Pienaar on Twitter. "Pienaar was far too erratic today, lost possession 19 times in all. Dispossessed double as much as any other Everton player too." From a stat compiler for opta. I'm his biggest fan but too many needless flicks today, been awful for the past few games too, needs to be dropped for a game.

Here's the thing - we had a player on the bench called Ross Barkley who has been playing well in that exact position, yet Moyes won't pick him for that exact same reason.

When it became clear to absolutely everyone that Pienaar was well into his gash routine after about 50 minutes, why oh why didn't the manager do something about it?

Wonder what it does for Barkley's confidence..

And Barkley is fit and should retain the ball better given how crap Pienaar is today. So gutted and Everton just throw away points at 90 mins all the time. We can't defend set-pieces.

No. He didn't. He gives us the type of outlet to stretch teams. Moyes blinked and went for safety.

Same old same old.

I agree Davek, but against Norwich who are very physical and good in the air Fellaini was a big loss set piece wise. Guess it doesn't matter now but we'd only have had our two centre backs and Jelavic as physical players to defend set pieces.

to be honest how many times have we conceded in 90 mins mark in moyes era quite a few times . it certainly needs looking at

yes mate he did he was making far too many mistakes in the defensive third and he is first and foremost a defender, basics. we don't have any other options though at RB so best hope he cuts out the mistakes sooner rather than later. anyway enough of coleman he wasn't even on the pitch...pienaar sh!t etc

The whole set piece thing for me, is 80% down to Howard. Doesn't command his box enough and it's rare you see him claim a cross. Don't understand why because he's a big fella.

Agreed. We have the left side attack and then a ball chipped to Fellaini in the absence of a right side that's toothless with someone like Jagielka/Hibbert on it. We just had one real attacking option today.

Everton do me ****ing head in at times, i just knew we wouldn't keep that lead, i even said to the fella next to me i bet we conceed from this straight after the ref pointed for the 'foul' and i was right, Heitinga was facing the wrong direction, Howard looked scared to move and the [Poor language removed] come away with a point. Too many mistakes and not enough chances created and FFS is it THAT hard to find a ref who can actually control a game because Norwich took the piss today.
