I think last night was a watershed moment for me in that im jacking it off until next season.

Too many players we need shipping out which wont happen this season it'll only happen hopefully from the summer.

We'll finish about 10th whilst clubs like Leicester & Wolves continue to play in europe and push ahead of us financially/in FFP's eyes which in return allows them to bolster their sides more than us.

pics of pickford behind the line are because he dived & the momentum has took him behind the goal, trying to save previous shot,if it was gone back a second or 2 he would be on the line if a side angle no doubt as the toon player that shot had his shot blocked by Lewin think it was-dont see how people cant see that as all so fast but then again so many hate the keeper anyway and never liked him since day 1 so thats that lol

Having woken up today to discover that the game really had ended that way and it wasn't just a bad dream, the thing that annoys me the most is that them scoring twice at the death really shouldn't have mattered; we should have been annoyed to concede a couple of consolation goals, nothing more. But how many times can we boss a game yet not take advantage?

As last night proved, a 2-goal lead doesn't make you invincible, but if we'd got 4 or 5 - as we really should have - those comedy goals at the end wouldn't have changed where the points went. Obviously, we should have seen the game out as we didn't get more than 2, but it's about time we properly battered teams when we have them on the back foot. Newcastle were pretty much putting up the white flag in the 2nd half last night, but we told them not to be so silly.

Last season at West Ham was the most dominant performance I saw (from all the games I went along to), but some heroics from Fabianski and our wastefulness kept the scoreline down to 2-0, which could easily had been overturned had they pulled one back early in the second half.

The game against the RS was the much same as last night: chances galore (at least in the first half), none of which we took, and later we were undone by a freak goal from that kid - which, again, shouldn't have mattered, but should've just been a consolation. This "running the show, yet somehow collapsing" act got old long ago, and it's happened under too many managers. If we hadn't got some decent league results post-SIlva, we'd be in big trouble. So, once again I'm praying for the season to end, but another 12 or 15 points can't come soon enough.

How the hell do we get to this , both centre half's off the pitch and god knows what Pickford was doing.
Plain and simple Basic Defending !

Then again we should never ever have been put in that position by players ??? that came on had done their jobs properly.

Utterly unproffessional .
Mate the lads thought they won. You’re not going to begrudge them a little break dance on the touchline now are ye

Normally people say a 2 goal lead is harder to defend than 1, its rare that we get ahead by 2 and yes we should have been 4 or 5 up,we took took our foot of the pedal acting as though the game was won when we needed a 3rd to be certain but then again i didnt really see the toon doing anything, and yes thats my fear in games when so on top like the West Ham game-if we conceeded 1 we go all over the place in games we are in control of,[even the Burnely 5-1 boxing day game,we conceed before ht and it should go 3-2 on 47mins ish,if it did i dont think we win that game] we need to stop this sideways/back passing as we do it way to much and need to get forward more and faster

I've got 6 Geordies on my site at work today and I'm the only blue. I've not heard the end of it all morning.

I'm more annoyed at least night's game than I was after both the derbies.. atleast we were consistently rubbish in both those games.

Just say 2-1 mate, We beat them comfortably in there own back yard.

I'm just about over whatever that was last night. Being out of both cups and likely safe, the rest of the season is in essence going to be a string of exhibition games for us to observe the progress of Ancelotti's input. Positive points though:

- Last night was the best I've seen us play in a very long time (normal time at least)
- In the last 3 games we've been playing lots of fast balls into forwards on the deck, it's very noticeable and long may that continue
- The monkey is finally off of Kean's back

Well at least DCL is scoring on a regular basis and Kean has scored and played well. I do, however, think (without any stats to back me up) that there are too many players in the side who you can almost guarantee won't score. If you can go through a team sheet and say "won't score" for 8 of the 10 outfield players, then you won't get the goals you 'should'. Digne has ceased to be a threat, no soaring set piece headed goals from central defenders, no athletic defensive mid who surges up the middle to smack a rocket into the net. Most wide players similarly goal shy. Maybe if we can get Richy, an on- form Kean and effective DCL in the same side that would help, but I'd still like more frequent goals from elsewhere.

Side point: I know he's a golden boy to many on here, but Digne was absolutely dog dirt last night and has been all season. The absolute state of him constantly 'pulling back' the ball to the edge of the area when in a crossing position... when we're playing two out-and-out strikers who are looking for a header or ball across the goal. Absolutely brain dead.

Pickford once again proved he's not up to the job. Seriously hope we are in the market for a goalkeeper in the summer. I am not sure what the thinking was in signing Loessl in the summer given we still have that gigantic waste of space Stekelenberg in the squad stealing a wage, but I think it's time to give Loessl a few games to either prove his worth or decide whether to get rid in the summer. Would love us to sign a keeper in the mould of Schmeichel from Leicester.

I was delighted with Bernard, DCL, Kean, Holgate and even Schneiderlin last night. It's such a weird feeling to see the res tof the team go and throw away the points in such a reckless fashion. Who was the useless get who just punted it upfield from kick off after they'd scored? Needs to be kept behind in training all week to learn how to play football. What an absolute idiot.

Schmeical will be playing cl next year. No chance.
