Was 3 or 4 occasions there again where James has found a position in between def and mid or moved into space there and our players don’t find him as they are too slow in control and in thought, and too risk averse in possession to try the pass. 3 or 4 moments with James on the ball in that area is likely at least a couple of strong chances we are missing out on.
Still more quality needed in this team behind him, new signings and for those to stay....more time under Carlo to improve them.
It doesn’t take that much though, I am sure if Shelvey the clogger but relatively decent passer was given those chances to find James in that space he would be trying those passes without thinking

The master plan was to keep Tosun as a back up striker when Kean went on loan. Now he’s getting the bullet we don’t have any back up strikers now. For a team with aspirations this season of a CL finish that’s not really good enough.
