It was a bit backs to the wall at times but instead of trying to play out of defence like Stones we were just belting it up and away downfield.

That's the way to do it against the likes of NU because they can't gather it quickly and keep the pressure up.

Good performance against a poor side.

Barkley, Lennon, Barry, Oviedo, McCarthy all outstanding. Cleverley, Kone, Funes Mori and the linesman not so much.
I thought Cleverly Good, Nice assist Nearly Scored Worked hard to win the ball back provided cover on the left with Dummet and Townsend. Not Mori's Best game but ok and Seamus I thought was off it. Kone just was not able to shoot. Hold up Play was quite good.

Great win and would have been even greater if not for a brilliant performance from their GK.

Still doesn't calm any doubts I have about the Stoke game though because they're leagues above Newcastle.

A well needed result. But missed chances and some shaky defending still had wondering wtf are we doing at times!

Build on it blues and let's kick on for the rest of the season!

Elliot made some really good saves in fairness - three onto the post in the space of five minutes.

Barlkley, if you're being hyper-critical, should have hit it a few times but oh well. Kone missed two sitters.

Shaky defending for that mad 5/10 minutes we always have. This time it was 65-75 mins and they should have scored. That was down to Mori completely losing his positioning. After that we recovered fine. Barkley was superb, as were Lennon, Clevs and Oviedo.

Mcclaran went into a bad run with Derby when they were up for promotion, he took a bad punt on this job, their fans are worse then us and will demand his sacking soon, can see Rodgers being their next manager.

good win, thats more like it. pleased with the clean sheet - defended well for once.
lennon & barkley brilliant
hopefully we will go on a run now, more arsed about the fa cup than the league but if we go on a run anything can happen, just wish our past performances would've picked up the points they deserved
