Fair result in the end I think but we still look a little disjointed and most definately lacking in confidence. The main plus today was the fact the boys put a shift in and got stuck in, Rom and Miralles chased down well and lead from the front although Rom didnt really threaten Kev was unlucky not to score, Gueye was sheer class again and the ref bottled it from the first whistle. Cleverly is going to go down in folklore as our worst ever midfielder....Rehn, Linderoth, Li Tie and Nyarko et al must be shitting their pants.

Clevz wishes he was half the player Le Tie was

Gana and mirallas were the only 2 who tried to play at a high tempo and brought the threat and fight from the start.
Barry n Leighton look to have gone passed it.
We can't have tom cleverly and stekelenberg in our team if we are goin to improve at all.
Romelo is a goalscorer and doesn't offer much more. But goals win games and we need him.

Very much this.

This squad is better than many on here give it credit for being.

Those lads today showed that they do indeed have bottle as they got up off the canvas and punched their way back into the fight.

This is why I keep saying the manager needs to step up has game and manage these players in a way that makes the most of them in the here and now.

It's simple changes I think Khal.

Our players aren't good enough much of the time, but as you said they at least showed today they still have some pride and fight.

4-4-2 is the way to go, for now

Agree with everything there apart from Baines.

Thought he did well and kept Mkhitaryan quiet.

Sorry if it's been mentioned before, but just looking on the BBC and that utter bafoon robbie savage said it wasn't a pen. Is he for real? Said gana 'made the most of it' - gana the guy who saved their player a red card earlier in the game by not 'making the most of it'

He is right in one respect.....Gana did "make the most if it"

But it was still a flaming penalty and no mistake

Team effort was there but lack of quality clearly evident, but little Gana again brilliant. 2 up front is the only way forward from now on..
Cleverley should never put the shirt on again
Holgate is a must starter even if coleman is fit
Mori scares the living daylights out of me

Coleman right wing an option?
Maybe square pegs.

....thought Mirallas provided an extra dimension today. He wasn't brilliant but he did ok. He looks to get a goal and he gets beyond Lukaku in ways that Barkley doesn't. He might be useful playing that position away from home.

Still can't get over how this wasn't a red, my other half's Manc supporting brother reckons it's not a straight red because he actually gets the ball!I just put the phone down on the bellend.
