Aye but means sod all if we keep doing that every game. Giving away a wide free kick is like giving away a penalty.

But as @Kurt rightly says, that goal doesn't happen if Zouma does his job, or Gomes decides to put pressure on the player rather than head at thin air.

It comes a point where as bad as the manager may be with this set-piece thing, the players are the ones making the same mistakes, over and over and over again.

I'm watching Bein sports, they just said that Silvas teams have let in 34 set piece goals in his time as manager.........it isn't going to get better is it?

Of course. New that was coming right before halftime when Gueye fouled.

Free kicks will be the death of Little Marco. That's 15+ conceded in all matches this season, maybe two scored.

If you can't fix that, than you are a horrible coach. Bottom line.

It is going to follow him for the rest of his career, what's left of it. The media are on to it and the pressure builds on him every time we concede from one.

I don't think my comment disagrees with that notion

Like many on here, I wasn't expecting too much from tonight but to concede from another set piece is just embarrassing. Never mind football, in your everyday life you wouldn't stick with doing something that harms or embarrasses you over and over again; you'd do something differently!
Why on earth can Marco not see what 37000+ Everton fans are seeing week in, week out?
