I went for Jags because, although my heart said Tom Davies for his fighting effort, he was doing the best he could against impossible odds. City today were a very good team on song, and it would have taken a very very good team to beat them, and we aren't that.

The possession stats are misleading really as their game, when ahead and in control, consists of passing sideways and back, forward sideways and back, waiting for the chance to pounce and score. They have players with the skills to keep possession, find space, pass accurately and find the weaknesses in the opposition. I hope they play as well on Wednesday.

Record breakers;
  • City's final possession figure of 82.13% is the highest by an away side in a single Premier League game since such data became available (2003-04).
  • Everton conceded 3+ goals in the first half of a Premier League game at Goodison Park for the first time since August 2009, against Arsenal.
There is nothing more for Allardyce to achieve. Let him go.

Went for Jags because he almost cleared out D. Silva(?) I think, and then got to Gundogan in the final minutes.

Also a shout out for Yannick as he finally scored with the shot he tries every game, catching the keeper out at the near post.

The most depressing thing to come from today's fiasco, for me at any rate, is that any hope of a rousing performance next week has vanished.

I had thought they would have really been up for this game today and then fir the derby but no.....the swimming trunks are already on.

These buggers will just go through the motions again next week.

David Silva bust a gut early closing down our midfield while we showed way to much respect early on and stood off and watched them stroke it around and they punished us severely.
Once we started putting tackles in and got in their faces they were miss hitting balls out of play, but the damage was already done. Watch for the repeat against the lovables, show them loads of respect from kick off then get angry with dented pride a few goals down when it's too late.

Had to vote Davies. Although the game was gone and City were asleep, him actually daring to get stuck in a bit gave us our best passages of play of the whole match. Think he and Vlasic should have been in from the start.
