He's a brilliant player as well. I have to say it but I never saw him as a RCB but he looked totally at home there. I'm not surprised Bayern where raging. He's only 21 too. It was a good scrap between Lukaku who I thought played really well and him. Too big strong guys going at it - There was a bit where Can looked to mock Lukaku with his footwork and Rom just put him on the ground.

He reminds me a bit of their John Stones. Strong reads the game well and brings the ball out. A cut above their other players including Stirling.

His more natural position is in midfield and he's too good offensively to be happy playing in defence unlike Stones who is a proper defender. Can is awesome in the Barry role too. I hate to say it but Liverpool are building a very nice side.

About time like with the hundreds of millions they've spent over the past five years.

I'd like to think we'd be challenging for the title this year if we'd had the money they've had to spend. Not sitting in 7th like they are.

The funny thing is that the side they're building has mostly been down to their cheaper purchases. Football - It's a funny old game.

I'm still not that impressed with the overall quality of their team tbh, they just seem to have developed an effective system that's difficult to play against. Individually their players aren't that great bar a few. With better firepower up front we would have easily beat them the other night imo.

I think if we were to have an XI of a mixture of Everton and Liverpool players there'd be more Everton than Liverpool, and that's without being biased. I'd have Sturridge, Coutinho, Sterling, probably Mignolet and that's it.

Do you think so? A goalkeeper as dodgy as ours, two weak full backs, about to lose their top MF player, with only Coutinho left with any invention in the MF. Good up front I'll grant you but no cover of any quality.

I don't think they're any nearer to being 'a very nice side' than they were before Rodgers spent all the Suarez money.

Moreno, Skrtel and Can are all very good players too and Henderson and Lucas aren't great but they're not bad either however goals is what win you games and with Sturridge Sterling, Ibe and Coutinho they have a very quick and technical front 4 that would cause anyone problems.

They're a bit like us in a way trying to find their best team which means accepting that doesn't include some of their older players.

We aren't too far away either from having a strong first 11.

over the last 5 years
The Red Sh**e have spent £351,000,000
we have spent £88,000,000

No costa for them gives us a fighting chance.
My gut feeling is we will have a go and Lukaku will be up for the challenge and may get a brace.
Nothing to lose and Martinez will know he was probably a tad to conservative in the derby with holding back Barkley for so long.

Yea they are.

I think Coutinho and Sterling lack a powerful shot and Sterling is a bit greedy but they're still pretty damn good. I wouldn't have liked to have seen them running at Barry on the half way line. It was bad enough 25 yards out.

No they're not.

Coutinho is lightweight and inconsistent.......he couldn't make it into the worst Brazil squad in living memory at the last World Cup.

Sterling flatters to deceive and promises much more than he ever delivers.

Ibe has been playing in the Championship all season up to just last week.......not a pedigree to make anyone think that attacking a team he was playing in is "suicide".

You hold them in too high regard, my friend.
