I can't understand this - how will players get fit if they are neither playing in the reserves nor the first team? Lewin and Patterson in full training. Genuinely think we'll be relegated before a full, on-paper, team will be sent out.

Ah, you're choosing to be blindly optimistic. Fair enough.

In matters of prediction, such as with football matches, I tend to prefer a little evidence before being optimistic or pessimistic. I differentiate between being optimistic and being hopeful. Overall, in matters of mental health, I think it's better to be realistic than optimistic or pessimistic.

I am hopeful that we might win today, but I wouldn't be optimistic about it. I'd see a draw as more likely.

Except all the stats show us as more likely to win, hence why bookies think an Everton win is most likely.

So you should expect a win, being “realistic”.
