Sam showed a lot of class and character to pick himself up after our disappointing, narrow defeat to high-flying Arsenal last week.

I’m really impressed, and think we should all be grateful he arrived in our moment of need.

enjoyed the bit of snide/professionalism creeping into our play, if someone needed to be stopped they were stopped, new concept for our choirboys, nice to see.

Poor first half. Good second half enough said really.
i actually thought it was a good first half, we controlled the game more and looked comfortable on the ball at times

second half was bit more loose

in the first half we had 63% possession and 6 shots, palace had 37% possession and 6 shots

in the second half we had 43% possesion and 5 shots, palace had 57% possession and 10 shots - benteke should have scored and pickford made a great save from sorloth

No wonder he left.

It was a sub-par performance from Niasse he normally scores within 10 minutes of playing time. I had to sit through stigmatizing him for ages before he won the ball and set the first one up. So can't be voting for him.

Thought everyone upped their game today. Was actually impressed with Martina - good clearances when needed and held the ball up & put pass through for 2nd goal. Thought Rooney's passing today was sublime - every one perfectly weighted. Walcott's movement both on and off the ball is great, but vote went to Siggy - he was everywhere and scored a great goal.

For me the only good thing about this game was 3 points. We need to capitalise on that with our next 3 games. We need to win these and get up that table. However it could be difficult if Allardyce reverts to the selection and tactics use in the Arsenal game. Lets hop the sill;y buggar has woken up!!

The first half might have been better than what we have served up recently, but I still think we poor overall. Goals change games and ours certainly did. We zipped the ball around with much more purpose second half and a number of players had a very good second half.
*If only all our signings last summer had have half the impact Walcott has since he joined us. The vision of Rooney to find him time and again was a pleasure to watch. Two class players working in tandem.
