I think some posters are not giving palace (and Pullis) the credit they deserve. I thought they played exceptionally well to a designed plan...and beat us at home at a sell-out Goodison under lights. And it wasn't a spawny one goal either. They got THREE!.
Live and learn people. I am still not unconfident that we can attain fourth. What a season it's been to date eh? Wonderful stuff...what sport is all about
 
Watched the game again...the goals we conceded were 100% on our back four + keeper.

#1. Baines got skinned alive. Stones was behind the keeper...Distin was in no man's land. Baines is the guiltiest IMO.
#2. Stones was marking Dann...and lost his man. Simple as. Free header...Howard shoulda done better like, but Stones lost his man...even if there was a sneaky hold on him. It's part of the game like.
#3. Stones got beat 1 v 1 by Cameron f*****g Jerome. Howard coulda done better.

A bit taboo round these parts, cause he's been so bloody good...Stones was directly responsible for two goals...even if he was unlucky. Doesn't change my view on him...stilll think he's an incredible talent with a far reaching ceiling talent wise.
 
Thursday night has arrived here in Aotearoa (ie NZ)...off to the pub with mates to talk about a load of significance (eg where IS that bloody airplane, and what sort of a death-wish burglar nicks bog-rolls off Oscar Pistorious ).

I have officially moved on from the Palace game.

It was in our hands now it's not expect arsenal to finish 4th they've been here before we haven't. It's a shame as this to me was and will be our only crack at it as other teams will invest heavily nxt season

...not so sure that this will be our only crack at this. First season with a new Manager, new system, new style. Suspect we can improve. Yes others might invest, but much depends on who they bring in and inevitably players will need time to bed in.
 
Champion League will generate ￡25m plus for us. So if we don't get 4th we will pick up Colbeck and some unknown striker instead of Lukaku and Tadic.

We should never rest players from now on. Hopefully we win all of the remaining matches then there might be a chance of getting 4th.

Martinez made mistakes last night but its still been a fantastic season and the future looks bright with Martinez in charge.
They deserved their win to be fair but arsenal won,t win all their games so its still a possibility 4th spot
