Might have had more of the second half if he wasn’t forced to do a like for like sub because of injury. Pace on at around 60-65 and we could have hit them on the break more effectively.
Clean sheet and a point. Hardest game of the festive period over.

One point closer to safety.
Defence looks solid - let's see what happens in the Jan window.
closer to top 6 now [6 points behind],than same stage as last season, before afternoon kos,and even a burnley win would leave the gap to 6th at 9 points which is same after 19 games last season,we have only 1 point less now to last season, overall and at same stage quite even, considering we have done not good so much of the season

Lets see how long you're impressed with no shots on target and parking the bus at home for... previous managers would have been slated for that by a lot of posters.

We won't take it for long but when we have been conceding goals left, right and centre before BFS came then we have to take it on the chin for a short while and work from there. Before BFS came I didn't know where we would get any points from and I made a bold but true statement that this was the worse Everton team I had seen in my life time. We are still not great but the points are coming and we are 9th. Perfect foundations.

Schneiderlin did well today, sometimes as good as he is I think Gueye playing seems to make his midfield partner not play very well. Remember when Gueye was at the ACON last year that's when Davies came in and did a great job with Schneiderlin in there too. I'm not saying for one moment Gueye shouldn't be playing but it's a little problem I've noticed.

Here’s where you and me fall out mate cos I thought Lewin put us under more pressure than Hazard!
I saw him hold the ball up much more than he has recently, long hopeful punts from the back and he was holding them. Surely you aren't expecting a kid who made his debut 12 months ago to singlehandedly smash the champions' backline? He held the ball up and gave the defence a little respite. Was it perfect, no of course not but for the first 80 minutes he allowed the defence to have a breather. Compare him to Sandro who didnt offer that.

Given what we have in attack, people wanting us to have a go need to wise up. A hard earned point from a defense who leaked goals before. Going toe to toe would have been a disaster. 0-0 is better than 6-1, with Everton scoring the loan goal in stoppage time.
Put it this way nearly any team in the league is happy to get a home draw against Chelsea, so this is a great point.

It's because we play two holding midfielders when Gueye often does the job of both, meaning the other player is unnecessary. It's down to Schneiderlin to adapt his game and play on the front foot in that situation but instead he all too often disappears and crab passes all game.

With Gana in we had a solid stretch in the second half that was really positive. His injury was a complete game changer for us. They had a ton of chances, but we were dangerous at times on the counter, just made bad passes and decisions. Need more quality. Add in a striker and a quicker, more aggressive LB, and we might have something.

Sandro, my word. I'm afraid he's just completely one dimensional at least at this level. First touch was just brutal, but it is against some pretty aggressive defending that apparently was never a foul.
