The entire gameplan is don’t concedeThis is why I’m not a dyche fan and no most will say who cares as long as we win. But allowing a poor team like Burnley over 60% on your own pitch is embarrassing and we’ve Hardly created anything
Pass it round the back, go nowhere, pass it to Pickford, hoof. Lose possession, Burnley lose it our half*pops head in for a quick idea of how it’s going*
*pops straight back out again*
We are winning but pretty poor overall
I’m thinking he doesn’t trust us to compete in the Brighton game so he is prioritizing this one. If City got knocked out of this tourney as well (I think they did?!) we have a realistic shot at winning it. Watched the first half though and I have to say a few of the players looked tired. Again- as long as we win.We could be up against Port Vale in the quarters with a win here, makes sense to go for it tonight.
But if you’re sitting back you have to run 50yrs to get up the pitch. Against attacking sides it can against a poor team like Burnley who won’t commit loads forward and press is in, it makes it a lot harder. We need to be on the front foot, press them get the full backs involvedA couple of spells where we've managed to string more than 4 passes together but fcuk me, we are depressing to watch sometimes.
Sitting deep, letting Burnley have about 60% of the ball, DCL isolated, Danjuma, Mcneil and Harrison anonymous again.
Let's hope for a better 2nd half.
