I've actually built up a bit of optimism over the last week thinking the club are finally making a few decent decisions that could actually move the club forward rather than slipping further in to a relegation fight.

Then I had a read through this thread and realised it's the same circus with the same monkeys so with the new signings cup tied we can only expect the same poor performance. Lampard hasn't had the time to impose any kind of new style on the team so I genuinely wouldn't be surprised by a defeat here.

Outside of gifting them the penalty I never really felt we were in much trouble, we just played rubbish football up front and paid the price

If we defend properly then we're in this

I don't think we'll win 5-0 as Dave says, but a 1-0 or 2-0 win wouldn't be out of the question so long as we can find some goals up top and keep it tight at the back

Yeh just pointing out to Dave there's no actual reason we should be overly optimistic here. We're the same team as we were back then if not worse with no Digne and Doucoure.
