I don't ever recall a competitive Everton game feeling any less pointless than tonight's game. I even considered giving the game a wide berth, but y'know, it's Everton.

Hopefully a few fringe players can impress and give those in attendance some entertainment.

They were warned. Or should have been anyrate. We let the club know we had tons of their fans trying to get info on how to get tickets, regardless of where in the ground.

Whatever happens tonight, the winner of the group will be decided by the final group game, Atalanta v Lyon.

Besides, Atalanta are not likely to win the competition. In that case, how badly do they want to finish in top place?

Surely we should be holding back regular first team players for the vital Premier League games on Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday.

If corrected I’m glad gueye has been given a break, as well as baines, both look like they need a reprieve. Would have liked to have seen Vlasic and lookman get some solid minutes on the pitch, especially lookman rather than always being a sub. They need game time.

Hoping Sandro and Klassen can start to show what I hope they have in their lockers. Really want them to do well and prove people wrong.

Other than Keane, Jonjoe and davies, I wouldn’t class any of the others as regulars. Rooney shouldn’t be starting every game and was rightfully dropped (imo) last match.
