Result aside, that was our best performance for sometime.
Villa are always going to be tough, but there were times especially in the first half we were controlling the game quite comfortably.
With a bit more confidence, the form and results will return.
Fellaini played well I thought. Cahill on the right is wasted. DM wil have to start making some choices between these 2, Rodwell and Heitinga.
Lucas Neill, first choice right back for me. Will look good with Baines, Jags and Distin.

Arteta and Phil will eventually win their places back in midfield with Bily and Pienaar, so the rest have a fight for places coming up in the new year.

Agree with the majority of this, I think changing back to 4-5-1 or a close variation helped us immensely yesterday, there was much more cohesion in the middle of the park and Yak holding the ball up also helped a lot. The ref being a t***t helped improve the atmoshpere in gse. Very very disappointed in losing a goal very early in the 2nd half, too many times we come out cold, almost seems a trait of the moyes regime.

All in all i'll take the draw but we need to start testing the keepers.

I thought Yakubu was different class to everyone on the pitch yesterday, his hold up play, movement and strength upfront really gave us a good platform to build on. I've always said, one of the worst myths in English football is that Yakubu is 'just a finisher', he's far more than that.

Really pleased for him because it was a serious injury and he showed me yesterday what the old Yak was all about.

Excellent point mate, the work he did dropping deep and in the channels was superb - his quality, intellegent play and what we badly need guile and en masse confidence was a great addition to the team.

Far more then just a goal scorer - really is a trully gifted all round footballer.

I was going to say he is like cornflakes you forget how good he is - but i didnt really.

Baines performence yesterday was exceptional too - we really missed him as an outlet over the last few games, thought Mofro was excellent too took one ball out of the air of his feet and killed it dead - sublime.

Yak was very good. Loved how he wasn't afraid to run at the defense.
Also when he dropped left after Bily got sent off, he beat his man at least twice, getting him sent off as well.

Don't know bout Fellaini. What he does good, he does very well. When the ball's above his waist, his control and knockdowns are very good, but when he recieved the ball at his feet, he either ran into danger and lost the ball, or ran backwards.
He also won some very good defensive headers.

So I dont know about him.

Two studs up on a player's ankle is ALWAYS a straight red.

Whether or not a referee calls it is a different matter.

Like I said, had a Villa player done that to one of our players, I'd have expected the Villa player to be sent off.

Even more so considering Petrov limped off minutes after the challenge.

There would be mucho furiousness on here if the roles were reversed.
