Giroud was technically fouling Distin. Pulling him down by the shirt and hampering his jump.

Jamie redknapp on sky said this right after the game, and acted as though it was ok,other way around and he probably says it should be disallowed

Is that why Distan kicked his shin so hard close towards the end of the game? he is out for 3 months cheat deserved that!

Also who was the culprit who placed the lead in Jags boots when he tried to impersonating heading the cross away for that goal?

I have honestly not been able to come on here properly as my fume and disappointment metre has been off the scale since Saturday.

That felt worse than most defeats, or is it just me?

Agree, if we had lost i wouldnt of felt any worse. Apart from the obvious Derby match, from our fixtures over the first 5 or 6 weeks it was the one game we had to win. Yes we do want to win every week but we know this early on if we are to compete for 4th we can class that as a 6 pointer, a win there would of sent out a big message, the only message we sent out after that game was we really cant hang on at the moment!
Chelsea will target the last 20 minutes

All their tippy tappy, 1-2, bull____ on the edge of our area, we were anticipating it. Their final ball was abysmal. We did that to them. A top premier league team: out of ideas, no imagination, impotent. I know we've conceded 4 in 2 but that defence is not going to ship goals. Fewer conceded than last season in this by a margin I reckon.
We're gonna be amazing this year. All the signs are there.
Agreed. Discounting the last 10' or so, the lads turned in an inspired performance. Tight marking, winning 50/50s and physical play were all in full abundance Saturday. That is how you take down a troupe of fashion boys that don't want to get their high performance kits mucked and Arsenal wanted none of it, especially the first half. Yes, the first two fixtures have been letdowns when opportunity was there for the taking. But this club is playing their guts out right now and as Shipped said, that will only lead to great things in the coming weeks and months.

yep lads...it's a loooooooong season. I was disappointed, but not fuming. Mind you, I think I had a not mild bout of alcohol poisoning! Kind of muted my fume response.

This.

Plus, as the fitness levels increase, we'll be tighter at the back and more potent up front. The 2-2s will turn into 4-0s

Watched the match again, focusing on Osman in particular. A bit depressing how poor he was in closing down attackers. Either he charged in and was dribbled around or, more often, he never closed them down at all. It didn't look like it was a fitness issue. He's just not quick or strong enough to cause problems. A defensive non-factor for me.

Feel for me, i was at Leeds fest, group of Evertonians near me, found out it was 1 0, then 2 0...we were dancing round like mad! Found out there was 15mins left, so we started celebrating.

Went the toilet etc, checked my phone and found out it was 2 2! Heartbreaking!!

Thanks to @barneygumble for the constant text updates though!

Per recent reports from Roberto in after match comments, he concedes that we were not upto 90 mins! and we slumped. So he is aware but will the remedy be. Will the players be any fitter for the next game.

Surely... a full week between games. They could even do a behind-closed-doors friendly to get that bit of extra match practice in for certain players who were flagging last weekend... no excuses for them not be 100% for Chelsea. Imagine that... two Chelsea 'rejects' coming back to haunt them in a 9-0 victory on Saturday.

True blue optimism, like it. Wonder if Jose will have any words for Rom and Eto'o?
