You've got a big night out planned but you're peaking at the bar for pre-drinks at 7, that's not what you want. We don't want a repeat of last year where we break our backs getting to the line only to not have the energy to step over it. Palace. Southampton. I know the league is the league and points dropped in August are worth the same as ones dropped in May, but there's a real chance we may be competing at the business end of a cup this year. Don't get me wrong I had a decent Saturday night things considered on account of taking on more intoxicants than I am able without dribbling a bit and them hypnotic beats, this here still stung like hell come the morning.
We are gonna run the spectrum of boss this year, you can see that in what we did to Arsenal for 80 minutes. All their tippy tappy, 1-2, bull____ on the edge of our area, we were anticipating it. Their final ball was abysmal. We did that to them. A top premier league team: out of ideas, no imagination, impotent. I know we've conceded 4 in 2 but that defence is not going to ship goals. Fewer conceded than last season in this by a margin I reckon.
We're gonna be amazing this year. All the signs are there.

Giroud was technically fouling Distin. Pulling him down by the shirt and hampering his jump.

Literally just saw this and came to post. So NOBODY is going to mention that??

Wrong, as long as Jagielka and Distin play im front of Howard we will continue to ship exactly these types of goals. Every set piece is a problem, every long ball is an issue. We haven't even played against teams good in the air yet have had problems.

Jagielka and Distin are both recovery defenders, they look good when up against fast forwards who they can marshall down the line. When we sit deep though, neither are proactive enough to defend well, they wait for danger then snuff it out. When its in your own box though the ball is in the net before you can deal with it. The best defenders snuff out the danger before it happens. You need a balance which is why Jags Lescott worked so well, Heitinga Distin was good, and Stones Distin wss good. Jagielka and Distin are not a viable top 4 partnership though and we have had enough examples of them throwing away points for an Eveton manager to have the balls to split them up. Either that or wait for another injury to one of them for our form to improve a la last season.

Naismith's been our best player in the opening 2 games. Why would we move him. Basically been playing. no.10 role and playing it well.

I'm more fumed with the Leicester result than the arsenal one tbh. For 70 odd mins we showed exactly what were capable of and not for tiring really badly would have had a great win. A point against arsenal is never a bad result.

Dropping 2 pts against Leicester and simlar teams will be what would cost us a 4th place finish!

To be honest, I think he has been our best player since about February.

He has found his true position as an old fashioned inside forward and he has been a revelation.

Re your point about getting a draw off've Arsenal as not being a "bad result".

That might be the case in normal circumstances but drawing with them, or any team for that matter, when we are two goals up with seven minutes to play cannot be regarded as a good result.....no matter how we try to dress it up.
