No, a Kenright is where the player is approached, agrees to join Everton. Everton offer about 2/3rd of the expected asking price and 2/3rd of the going rate for wages. So using 100 as the benchmark:

Everton offer about 70-75 - rejected
Everton offer 75 and up wage offer to 80 - rejected
Everton offer 80 and 80 - rejected
Selling club reduce price to 90
Everton up offer to 85 and withdraw as the 2 sides can't agree a fee.

Timeframe about 6 weeks - resulting in no signature and no time to acquire replacement.
