Just to highlight that FFP hasnt gone away.

Is this the dodgy sponsorship case? If so, this will be an incredibly interesting case. City have essentially said that they will accuse UEFA of operating a monopoly where they compete with their own members for sponsorship income, ticket sales, TV rights etc.. via the champions and europa league. Essentially, they are accusing UEFA of a massive conflict of interest and may even bring down their whole system of governance. I would bet this gets settled before it gets heard in court. If it doesn't it should be fun.

Fernadinho for City, I know hes tidy on the ball as all of City are but he plays a massive part in stopping city getting counter attacked even throwing in tactical fouls. Fabinho for the RS does a similar role and excels at it. Leicester are the type of team we are competing with and Ndidi is vital to that team.

Also we are miles away from being anything like a top team so we need to stop thinking we are and complete midfielders arent going to look us twice.
Well we finished above Leicester fir the last 3yrs while Ndidi was in the team. Very good player, but like the reds midfielders , let’s not make out them players are out of our reach.
The midfield 3 for Liverpool are all very good players, but it’s the defence, full backs abd front 3 that make that team.

We definitely aren’t miles away. And with the right buys we could finish above Leicester next season. Who this season Have has no injuries abd a good few Var Decisions in their favour, unlike us. But that’s a separate argument.

Also the 3 players you named are specialist defensive Midfielders, basically just sitting infront of the CB’s which Gana wasn’t

Ndidi is one of the best examples of using stats, recruiting based on specific attributes and recruiting based on what someone could be and not what they are. Also a good example of how sticking to a process works. Anyone remember who the original Kante replacement was supposed to be for them? Nampalys Mendy didn't work out but they trusted the process and came up with Ndidi 6 months later.

FFP was implemented to make sure clubs didnt overspend and thus cease to exist.

Never has it been more needed.

Ive seen a few people say UEFA would do it to help pump more money into the game, but clubs lacking money makes them need the money UEFA give them more.

Basically UEFA couldnt care less if all its clubs are skint.

It was actually implemented to stop billionaires buying clubs and breaking into the elite clubs that dominate European football. But it is dressed up to look like its to stop clubs becoming overloaded with debt. Look at Manchester City, they have no debt because of their rich owners, but don't comply with FFP. Manchester United debt is £400m, but they comply with FFP. Its a con.

I know this mate, I was just saying the reason UEFA gave for its introduction.

Im not as against FFP as many people.

Christ imagine what Citys side would look like without it?
United have done their fair share and Arsenal aren't far behind if they don't sort it soon.

Funny enough I knew United would be the first name out, Pepe stands out at Arsenal but cant think of many other flops?

Tierney too from last summer.

30m on Torreira isn't great.

Mkhitaryan isn't a great one either.

Then going back a few years they spent close to 80m combined on the quartet of Chambers, Welbeck, Debuchy and Gabriel Paulista.

Reading through it actually went worse than I thought it would.

Also last summer they just totally ignored areas of need and instead spent big on an additional attacker that has made it hard to play Lacazette and Aubameyang, bought a LB which is the one spot they had a serviceable option and patched up the center with David Luiz. It was a bewildering window.

The self righteousness in this post made me cringe.

Whatever mate, you all think I'm dumb and occasionally I like to point out that what I'm saying works out really well for teams that typically aren't Everton.

I dont think you are dumb, I think you have a way of looking at things that I generally dont agree with, but thats ok, cos you present them in such a way that compels me to tell you how wrong you are. Thats not me arrogant enough to assume im always right, im mostly not, but you, like I, will always have conviction in your opinion which I enjoy, even tho your mostly WRONG!

Nah I don't mean particularly you, but some posters on here are a bit harsher about it. Occasionally I see a chance to go "see! this stuff does work" and I do it.

I'd love to be wrong on some of it. Like if we decide to go win now mode and sign old players for a lot of money and it works, I'm not going to be mad even though I will be very WRONG! But sitting here today I just can't see that course working and I'm going to say as much even if it is at odds with people who know more football (Carlo, Brands, whoever else) than I ever will.
