Fact is we are weak in depth up top - dress it up as much as you want but we have no half decent back up to Calvert Lewin without weakening the wide area moving Richarlison central.

I was thinking a player good enough to play in our first team - doesn't mean he'd get in the team every game nor be a replacement for DCL. We have back-ups in a number of positions that fit this bill, i.e. at centre back we have four players good enough, Kean, Mina, Holgate, Godfrey - any two of four can play. Up front if DCL gets injured then we switch in Richie but from his preferred position as we don't have a decent back-up. Tosun is not a decent back up.
I hope that clears up for you what I meant and yes a DCL replacement would be expensive.
Isn't that normal tho? When teams lose 1 of their better players it's normal that they are weaker?
As I say, other than PSG there's not a team in the world that isn't weaker if their main Striker is injured.

Only us out the clubs currently hoping to finish top 4 have kin Tosun and Iwobi as our answers off the bench to try grab a goal / rotate in a hectic December period.
Its not about signing a world class back up its having someone who is reliable enough to come in and do a job - someone like Tosun isn't that.

I'm not dressing it up I've said before I don't agree with letting Kean AND Walcott go without one coming in but it's happened so I'm just dealing with it, We have Tosun and yes he is an ancient sloth who somehow manages to be near bald one week and then have full head of hair next week but he is capable of being thrown off the bench for a goal if we're desperate.
We'll come to the "well if DCL gets injured" bridge when it happens.
