Pure recency bias to suggest Besic is better, people have simply forgot how bad he is.

I think with them bringing in CBs, they will be happy to sell but a loan would allow us a year to pay for him. (While trying him out)

Why would it matter? We take January mostly off anyway, and had extra months due to covid, why can’t we line deals up.

Markets. Changes in fees etc. Rival clubs.

Chelsea will have been burning a hole in their pocket and would've just lobbed whatever the club's were asking at them.

I mean, Havertz is costing £100mill (in total). United have been negotiating with Dortmund for Sancho so they don't have to pay that amount for example. Chelsea have lobbed the cash without batting an eyelid.

Overall so far they've spend about £50mill net. For most clubs, that's 1 outlay on a very good player never mind needing 4 or 5.
