Arteta was coming off a poor season and his role had already diminished a little for us - was good money for a player arguably slightly past his best.
Pienaar ran his contract down and we cashed in rather than lose him for nothing the end of the season
Rodwell was never an integral part of the team and was a utter injury crock.

Comparing any of those 3 to the effect of selling Stones is laughably clutching at straws
