Everton to use Footy Manager

Let's say Everton are alerted to a prospect. All players these days have agents, and if they dont, they soon get one when interest is shown in them. Do you think they'll want Everton to be shooting fish in a barrel and having sole access to their charge? Will they fcuk. The world of football is a small place. How many times in the past have we seen Moyes onto a player and then we get gazumped by Newcastle or Liverpool or Spurs?

As I say, it's a bit of publicity to demonstrate forward thinking.

I agree its a bit of PR spin (the game is out today by the way ahahaha) but it is a very useful tool for indepth stats on players and prospects.

We get mugged at the last minute because we're Everton not Liverpool (richer club), Spurs (down saarff, fashionable) or Newcastle (throw money at it, paint a pretty picture). And if you get em young, there's every chance of getting them if you dive in 1st and bite the bullet (which we tend not to do hehe).

There's lots of information on a weath of players that are easily filtered -- ones in contract, out of contract, loans, youth, academy players, left foot, right foot, appearences, rated, etc etc that can be utilised at no extra cost and is probably the best in the world for it. You can be specific in what your looking for also.

Its a worth while tool while nothing to hang your hopes and dreams on hahaha

I just cant see it bearing any fruit. They're trusting a computer game, they're trusting the view of a guy they have never met and probably will never ever meet.

Though I would put my hands up should we sign a wonderkid from zimbabwe in january.
They're not really trusting a computer game though, are they? As the article says, it just cuts out the first stage in the scouting process. They won't just sign some unknown because he's on the database, they'll go and check him out

Nar they will just search all the wonderkids and offer them all a pack of smarties and a cup drink to sign. :D

I remember Dom or someone going on about Moutinho in the game a couple of years ago, and he has blossomed as well. Plus all the FM/CM forums would have recommendations for youngsters in the game, Babel was one and so was Podulski IIRC. They do seem to have a knack for spotting the ones with potential.

:) - Coentrao is gonna be great on it aswell, and he is in real life. Sign him Moyes.

Fernandes is good on this too. Sign him Moyes

by the sound of it, it seems as though not only are we using the software, but we have access to additional info besides what's on the game. this is [Poor language removed] amazing.

I cant believe no one has figured out the real reason behind this.

Its so that next summer when we get loads of unheard of foreign 16 year olds rather than actually buying players because Bill won't give us any money he can just say that they were ace on FM and even acer on the secret bit only we have access to so we don't need to spend any money.

Give it a couple of years and we will be unbeatable honest.

All you Kenwrongers slipped up on this one. :D

i watch the k league week in week out and am better than any everton scout in korea.

exhibit A

park chu young went to monaco for 2 million quid and is now playing very well for them in the number 10 shirt and scoring goals. how long before he hops over to the prem?

i really feel i am the most clued up blue in korea and know better than to believe some dodgy scout who has a vhs tape of his boy scoring a few goals against seoul.

if ian ross is reading this, or any blue from the club for that matter then get on it!

use your resources! i'll make a top ten player list and i'll only ask for one of those groovy high viz third shirt (long sleeve of course) in return.

He was boss in PES as well as FM

It's not going to be a case of the club will have a list of stats out of 20. It's going to be access to reports on players - which are then processed into stats for the game. SO it's a good idea by the club, using evertonians who are able to help the club.

Arsene Wenger must be fuming!

If we use it as a non-exclusive tool then it could potentially pay dividends, particularly if we alone have access to their non-publicised data.

However we've got to watch out for GIGO - garbage in garbage out - problems.

The information is only as good as the scout who supplied it - we should use it to plan where to send our real scouts rather than a substitute for a scouting network.

That way we can maintain quality control and hopefully improve the calibre of players.

shows some creativity in thinking, all for new approaches in the game.

I downloaded a demo of this game, it was the most boring thing i've ever played. Where were the explosions and death? It was just like being at work checking my emails...
