That's absolute nonsense. I don't think the rs players have a clue who their CEO is, and I think it has zero effect on the team.
The Director of Football, Manager and coaches are the only people who have an effect on the football side of any club
Sorry I strongly disagree.
The club is not a winning club and doesn't believe in win at all costs, our CEO experience is running a non profit charity totally different to running a football club.
Look at it this way, we haven't won anything since 1995 why? Hundreds of different players, multiple managers?
Two major consistent people Jimmy Martin the kitman and our luvly, duvy romantic chairman who loves an underdog story.
He has been chairman since 2001, we have one cup final to our name, and a further 4 semi-finals and one top 4 finish, he's overseen our longest barren spell but for some he can't do wrong.
The excuses his excuse makers have moved onto is he's just the chairman because "he has minimal shares" but this is a chairman's role
The essential tasks of a Chairman are:
- providing leadership to the board
- taking responsibility for the board’s composition and development
- ensuring proper information for the board
- planning and conducting board meetings effectively
- getting all directors involved in the board’s work
- ensuring the board focuses on its key tasks
- engaging the board in assessing and improving its performance
- overseeing the induction and development of directors
- supporting the chief executive/MD
This is a role that is being satisfied by a man who openly admitted to not knowing how to run a football club.
He's got to go, until he's gone there will always be people like me questioning why he is still here.
His time is up.
