I doubt he cares. He has an investment to protect and he had gone for a safe pair of hands.

The big problem for me is he is absolutely not a safe pair of hands.

A manager who most of us hate (or did do...) who got relegated with his last premier league cup and struggled in China who's peak was about 15 years ago and works much better when he has loads of money to spend.

I get the logic to an extent but I am not sure this was the right manager to do this with!

It's amazing that you all still can't put together rating Iwobi is different than thinking he could have been more useful than Sigurdsson or that we should maybe refrain from borderline abusive comments.

That goes for every player btw. Davies, Iwobi, Delph, whoever. So tired of some of the things people say about players who don't meet their unrealistic expectations.
At no point EVER has Iwobi been more useful than Iceberg, no point in either of their careers.

Unrealistic expectations? I expect a professional player should be able to play football, Iwobi fails on that very basic expectation.

This is not how you get better.

And as with my previous post calling players donkeys is ridiculous behavior that is apparently totally acceptable here.
Why on earth would it not be "acceptable"?

Those people may be wrong and it does make me laugh how many people just dismiss players abilities but it's hardly a massive offensive insult either.

Chelsea won the champions league the previous year with the players under John Terry practically running the team ,- Di Matteo manager in name only. They had a decent team based around the likes of captain John Terry, Ashley Cole Lampard etc.

Under Benitez they weren't at all competitive in the league which is what they were judged on most of all, domestic and second tier European trophies aren't the currency Abramovich dealt in at the time, real trophies mattered. Benitez had won cups that hardly registered but lost out in what mattered to them.

He axed his skipper Terry and broke their teams challenge, third is third but it can tell two different tales, one a very competitive team just missing out and the other, one who never got anywhere near. Mourinho came back restored the spine of the team with Terry back to marshall the defence and predictably they strolled it the following season.
They finished 3rd the following season in a 2 horse race which they were favourites to win and went out the domestic cups in the 5th round.

I listened to an interview last season with Terry who admitted he was wrong about him.

Oh hey up Big Oil has turned into Fabian Delph.

Ive never abused a player at a game or on social media.

I think its a stupid thing to do.
It's one thing to read criticism of players, I sure as hell do it all the time, it is different reading post after post about elite athletes going "he's awful," "he's not arsed," "he's a donkey." If you want to have some actual criticism to discuss I'm all for it but the season hasn't even started and I'm already tired of the other stuff. We're not going to be very good so do we really need to do this all season? Players like Iwobi, Davies, Gomes, Townsend, Holgate, Coleman, Keane, Kean, Richarlison, Delph, Calvert-Lewin, Mina, Digne, James, Pickford, Gray, Doucoure, Allan, Gbamin and Godfrey are all going to have bad days or even longer period where they struggle but can we discuss that with a bit of thought involved?

The answer is no. Just endless posts calling them awful and donkeys.

I think you will find that its only really Iwobi I go hard on.

I also dont believe we will have a bad season, even with the fat kopite in charge, im a dreamer, nothing can stop me dreaming of better times for Everton.

I go into every season full of hopes and dreams.

But Iwobi is just the worst.
