He was never a good player, had a small purple patch at Valencia where the team was setup in his favour and he produced but aside from that he has always been highly inconsistent. You can see there is ability there but he can't seem to put it down, a bit like Gray. I find it seems to be a common thing with modern players, there are a lot of 'average' players around these days imo.
